Before taking Julia's walking meditation course, I didn't really know anything about it. Her clear teaching and the progression she uses to introduce this unique and enjoyable form of meditation make it easy to become somewhat proficient rather quickly. I was surprised to learn all there is and can be to walking meditation – the various forms and purposes – as the students can choose, after learning, which form to practice depending on their needs. Also, I find walking meditation easier to stay present with than sitting meditation, as my thoughts don't wander as much – and when they do, I come back much more quickly because my body and mind are engaged and that draws me back in.
